There is no one specific, or perfect, step by step way to finding your Zen. There are plenty! You just gotta find what works for you.

Listen to your body and give it what it needs, not what you want. Don’t be selfish…. Be nurturing. As much as we do for others, our work, and for just about everything else, except ourselves….. We deserve to give ourselves special attention.

Some of us don’t even know where to begin, and may not realize what type of activities we need to thrive.

It’s time to balance it out.

What do you do when your mind is feeling heavy? Read a book. A lot of us prefer to distract ourselves from our mind, instead of relaxing it. Try reading something that you like, such as a funny or suspenseful book, a new subject, something you feel that will be interesting. This can help you unwind from thinking and using your mind all day. You’ll just use it in a different way. Less stressful way.

Eyes feeling strained, take a nap!!!!! I am always shocked to hear people talk about how they don’t take naps! Ever since it’s been introduced to me I’ve taken naps, as much as I can. There are some days when you can’t, but try resting your eyes, even if it’s on a 15min break. Looking at our phones, computers, laptops, tablets, etc. all throughout the day, EVERYDAY! is not good. Our eyes need rest too, and not just when we go to bed.

Mouth feeling dry from talking all day. Make sure you have plenty of water with you, ALL THE TIME! especially now. It’s a good natural detoxifier and you want to keep your body hydrated to help avoid dehydration, getting sick, etc. Drink water! If you’re a person who talks at work all day, or in general, give yourself an hour or 2 of not talking. Try to find some quiet time not using your vocal cords and just having some silence to yourself for yourself. If you have days off, try going as long as you can without talking. Its all about balancing what you do a lot of and don’t do enough of.

Chest and heart feeling tight. Maybe you’re going through something difficult, emotionally, and it’s heavy on your chest. If you’re finding a hard time healing, try being more giving… *to the people who deserve it of course*. Donate some clothes, give your time to someone who needs it. Making someone else feel good can help take the ache away, unless you need to do some stretching, and in that case that’s a good idea. Also, try being more giving to yourself…..

Belly feeling icky. You deserve something nutritious. Give your body a break from what you usually eat and give it something filling and healthy. My favorite is a juice in the morning (carrots, celery, cucumber, apples) are my staples. Something hearty for dinner such as steak, sweet potato, zucchini, and water! Are my go-to’s, or chicken, gluten free mac n cheese, and salad. Switch it up and don’t be afraid to try something that’s NEW and HEALTHY.

What about your legs? Restless? Go for a walk. Try a new place every week if you can , or a new route just to switch it up a bit.

Feet tired? Soak them, or your whole body. Epsom baths are the bomb! And get a bath bomb and take a bomb bath! (See what I did there). I used to not be a bath person, and although I love my showers, I do look forward to bath days, because I now know what to use. CBD bath bombs are great to use, especially prior to bed, because it is very relaxing and soothing. The Epsom salt bath is great for detoxifying the body, and glowing the skin….

Remember to wear floaties if needed.

PLEASE FIND THE TIME TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF.

Seeing what NOT taking care of yourself looks like is bothersome, I too am guilty of not following through, so I say this with love and care. You deserve to be taken care of, but only YOU can ultimately do that for yourself. FIND A WAY.
