Overthinking/Overdoing

It’s okay to pause for the cause. But we often forget to do that.

TAKE A BREAK! BREATHE! And allow the Universe to work for yoU.

We sometimes forget that habits come back to us, even if they appear to be different than before. I had to catch myself from overthinking and overdoing. As a recovering workaholic and having to start over due to a change in career, and major financial obligations. I began stepping backwards thinking I was moving forward. Not all successes come from our actions. We sometimes have to wait, be patient, and allow things to work for us. I had to think of why I was so eager to get the work done, and yet I was missing the opportunities to focus on other things. I enjoy what I do, so I believe it is important to turn the work mode off sometimes.

The overthinking led to overdoing, and eventually feeling like I didn’t have enough time, so I thought. And instead of my actions moving me, my actions began suffocating me.

I was overdoing it.

TAKE A BREAK.

I had to take a step back and reevaluate. And this event happened multiple times. That’s the thing about the journey. There is no straight or thorough path. The path can have hills, secret passage ways, and it will not look the same as before. Possibly similar, but not identical, and even identical twins aren’t exactly the same.

The overthinking and overdoing began clouding my mind, then eventually I lost my motivation to do things. I realize that some of us are a little more intense and it has to be all or nothing. But that doesn’t mean we can’t learn to smooth things out. We can still try to find the balance, even if we have to be more creative with it.

That is what it’s all about.

We can’t expect the results will always come through the action, or the work that we’re working so hard on. We have to realize that the results, or better yet the rewards, can come while we’re being still.

Stillness is just as important as the work.

I always tell me clients body recovery is just as important as the workout. Well I also believe this to be true in all avenues of our lives. We can’t be on go all the time. We have to learn to be still, breathe, take it in and recover. And we’ll feel better when we go at it again.

Do you have a habit of overthinking/ overdoing?

What do you do to unwind, and let go completely?
