Get Up & MOve (Yin Yoga for the spine sequence).

1–2 minutes

read

This sequence was inspired by Bernie Clark’s, The Complete Yin Yoga Philosophy + Practice “Yin Yoga for the Spine” pg.193.

Yin yoga is a passive practice, unlike its counter part (vinyasa), both are beneficial in their own way. Yin yoga helps counter our regular daily activities. Calming and rejuvenating, you go into a pose and apply tension on the area of interest.

Yin yoga still consists of a sequence that may or may not involve a “flow”, but internally you are flowing gently from one pose to the next.

Get up and move your body around. Everything we do on a regular basis becomes so routine and demanding on our bodies. Our bodies demand a different routine, something to create balance. We need to add some yin to our yang of being.

Give this practice a try, let me know what you think!
