Take A Few Steps Back…

1–2 minutes

I had to take a few steps back. Living life so fast, pretending I had somewhere to go. I thought I did though, building from nothing into something, and doing it all over again. I hope I learned this time around. Starting over isn’t easy, but it’s not as hard either. You just gotta know what you really want and prioritize around that. Take a few steps back, you’re growing too fast, going up, down and all around, but not listening to the important sound. Your heart. You notice how it beats when you feel something is missing, but do you feel it beating when you’re no longer feeling? Temporarily filling it up to fill a void, but in reality you choose to avoid.

Take a few steps, you’re doing too much, but not enough.

I had to take a few steps back, reflecting how I wanted it to be. I was missing the point, but it became clear I had to learn. Unlearn, sometimes relearn. The point came clear to me when I found myself in a rut, and I noticed the fall had nothing to do with my luck. I lacked preparation, I lacked the resources and application of not knowing. You’re never too young or old to learn something. and that includes one’s mistakes. I had to take a few steps back in order to escape. It’s not meant to be perfect, it’s meant to be real, your trials and tribulations are not just a reveal. You will overcome it, you will learn, you will teach someone something new.

You are the reveal, the rebel against all odds.
