Falling For Fall & Ready…

Fall and winter are amongst us, and like the changes in the seasons, we change as individuals. Well some of us, if we’re aware of it. I admit, I’m one of those whose affected by the seasonal changes. Yet here I am living in California LOL. I am sensitive to all the changes around me, but being aware of these changes, and how it affects me, helps determine what I need to do. I absolutely LOVE the fall season, spring being my second favorite. Now don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the summer, not so much the winter, but it is all about making the best of it. That’s why I am a huge fan of mother nature, as she teaches us to change even when we are not ready for it, or simply embracing what is there. Presence.

And speaking  about presence. That’s exactly what I’ve been, and will continue working on. I know I haven’t written on here in a few months, but I have been writing a little more in my journal. There is just some things that you have to do for yourself, and without the world knowing. Nothing major, except growing and learning, and embracing the fact that it is an everlasting event. Growing and learning. I also been working on holistic healing, and wanted to share my other website with you.

I was first introduced to CBD oil from a roommate, who uses it to treat a variety of health problems, and I must say I’m INLOVE! This will not get you high like marijuana, however, it will provide other side effects that are quite necessary for a overall healthy body/mind. Of course you have to consider other factors in your life that may be contributing to whatever type of health mishap you’ll like to release, but I do recommend checking out the website, in which will provide more information. You Are Your Worst Enemy…

Why must we do this to ourselves? We build ourselves up just enough to be put back on the shelf. All that hard work, and what for? To be placed on the shelf???

We’re our own worst enemy. At times, it feels as  if we’re not. But really we are. Lets be honest with ourselves. No matter what anyone else says, or how they see us. It is not our responsibility to change that. Don’t play the game, you know you don’t deserve that, especially when we’re so hard on ourselves already.

The power lies within us. What we believe to what we want to achieve……

We’re our own worst enemy, but oftentimes we try to switch that focus to another. What good is it to play that game? None of that matters, none of it is the same. Instead, it is a distraction to help take the focus from ourselves….Don’t fall for it though 😛

Take ownership! Being your own enemy can be as beneficial as being your own friend. You have to really question yourself and not be afraid to go deep.

Reflect on yourself, the people you surround yourself with, the types of situations and resolutions that have inspired you, or moved you. Ask yourself (enemy self) why and how things can change, for the better.

Any enemy can turn into a friend. Sometimes it takes a little more effort to truly get to the resolution and to apprehend it.

Don’t be afraid to discover the enemy inside you, somewhere in there is another you, no longer an enemy, but a better friend.

Let’s no longer fight with the enemy, and let’s become friends with her instead 🙂

Money Makes The World Go Around,

But love will always make life worth living…

Money and love is what most of us want in life. But ultimately, it seems like we cannot have both, equally anyhow. We all think that these two will solve our problems, but sometimes these are the same two things that create them. We have to be more thoughtful into what we are putting in to our world. Sure money pays for a living, but love makes us feel like we are living. We have to learn to set aside the material to what truly matters. We all want, yet do we truly cater to our needs and those around us? Money can be just as blind as being in love, and combine the two we have paradise, or maybe a disaster. Be intentional when it comes to these life changers. Many of use don’t realize how we perceive money and love, so think about it and ask yourself. You can always make money, and from anything these days. But love, we need to be more careful, and in tuned with ourselves. Money comes and goes, but love will forever stay in your soul.

Just make it worthwhile.

Instead of Feeding Your Body, Nourish Your Body

Taking care of yourself is about breaking bad habits and creating healthier ones…

I’ve always been an active person, but it was my eating habits that I struggled the most with; I’m a true foodie at heart. We have to understand that our health and wellness is a journey, and it is okay to not be at 100% all the time. I think we stress out by constantly restricting ourselves. It’s like a punishment. Instead, we have to look at it as a reward, and remember that taking care of yourself is a reward. After dealing with a death in the family, and also going through relationship issues, I gained weight. I was drinking and eating out more than usual. These “in the moment” mishaps led to a spiral effect, and I needed to find an exit.

I had to make a change, and realized this by seeing a psychologist. The assurance I got from her made me feel that I deserved to live healthy, and going out all the time, and pleasing others was killing me. I wasn’t taking care of ME. She said I was too young to feel miserable, and she was right. In fact, no one should feel miserable. It is not a good feeling. I began my health and wellness journey late in 2009, and it really took off in the middle of 2010. However, along with these changes included my escape plan from the ex (please read previous blog for more info.). You must know that any major change in your life will involve sacrifices, but to be successful you have to change all aspects of your life.

This is important because you want to avoid going backwards, and of course eliminate as many triggers as possible. This is why many of us have trouble with weight loss. We have to be ready, and being prepared will help you. You want to pay attention on nourishing your body. Kind of like gardening, you wouldn’t give your plants junk right? Too many of us are concerned with feeding the belly. In most cases, we have an image in our mind, and most of the time it will be something unhealthy. When you eat certain things for so long, our bodies become accustomed to it, and the brain becomes programmed to thinking its good; it may taste good, but is it good for you? Now this isn’t to say you have to cut those items out completely, but to do so in moderation. I must say, however, that once you open your options, you will cut most, if not all of those unhealthy foods. Trying new foods can include what you already like. For example, you can make healthier tacos, and substitute the sour cream with plain Greek yogurt (so good!).

I always say start little so don’t overwhelm yourself with this. You don’t want to put so much pressure on yourself and end up eating twice as bad than before. Take your time. As mentioned before, preparation is key. Think about your overall goal, and then split it up. Sometimes the right time will come to you, and you’ll know what to do. A friend and I went to the mall to go shopping, and while trying on clothes, I saw that roll behind my back. I almost cried… It was a lot for me considering I never had rolls before. Now this had nothing to do with anyone else, and still doesn’t, but I wasn’t use to it. Because I didn’t have the proper support, I had to learn to depend on myself, and of course Google was always there. I’m sure you hear this a lot, but Google is your friend! I came across a lot of different information, and combined the information to make it my own. This is another important step. Research and figure out what works for you, and stick with it. I’ve tried a lot of different diets, but dieting is a temporary fix. In order to be successful, you have to make it a part of your life.

*So try this* eliminate something unhealthy for this week, and substitute it for something healthier. For example, Instead of eating sandwiches, eat a salad. If you need carbs, add a little bit of croutons. Additionally, pay attention to your water intake. There are so many of us not drinking enough water. Additionally, try cutting back on fast food. You’ll be amazed on how much weight you’ll lose by doing this.

Remember to start out small. Your journey will blossom as long as you take it slow, while trying new things. Let the change begin!
