I had to break free.
There was so much I had left in me.
I was worn out, drained, and felt tied down.
And what was tying me down made me feel as if I was drowning.
I had to break free.
Get myself up so I can breathe again.
I was drowning in the hopes of change, but then I decided to come up for air.
It felt good to be able to breathe again.
Suffocated by behaviors of others needing you.
But what happens when you need them?
What happens when you’re trying to break free from those who are holding you back?
Break free.
Set yourself on fire and the flames will protect you.
Be ready to burn anything that gets in the way.
Be rebellious when burning those bridges.
Be prepared when the whole building turns into flames.
I had to break free.
The freedom I have now makes me feel alive.
And I am no longer under the spell of lies.
A stranger, who I once called a friend. It doesn’t matter how long, or how well you know a person.
Instead, it matters how they impacted you. Do you really know them?
Break free from the chaos, if they’re causing you stress.
Break free from the lies, if they’re causing confusion.
Break free from the games, if they’re trying to manipulate you.
Break free from their control, if they’re constantly needing you.
Break free, and let them be.
Break free and allow yourself to be free.
