The past will come up, but what will you do?

It’s like another test, but will it subdue you?

You’ve grown, got through a lot, and accomplished a lot.

But they still see you from where you left them in the parking lot.

You may’ve grown, but have they?

Don’t entertain them with the truth when all they see is the past you.

It’s because they haven’t seen past themselves, and refuse to see the new you.

They chose their roles, and assumed you’re still stuck in yours.

They haven’t seen the hard work you put in, because you were busy putting in the work, and not proving it.

And you don’t need to…

Let the past come up, because it’s trying to catch up with you.

But you’re on higher heights, a different realm. It cannot touch you.

The old you could never…

And your past can’t either, unless you allow it.

People from the past don’t know how to approach you anymore.

So they hang unto the past, thinking you’ll respond like you did before.

They don’t know this new you.

They don’t realize you only respond to love and light.

And not what doesn’t feel right.

The past will come up, but it is up to you to keep moving forward.

Notice how far you’ve come and how you are no longer a part of the past.

Although the past is a part of you.

I acknowledge my past and reminded of how far I’ve come. I am proud of me.
