Cleaning Up With SpongeBob

Me: SpongeBob, I seriously cannot stop smiling but I’m fangirling over here.

SpongeBob: (blushing) Oh stop *laughs in SpongeBob’s voice*

Me: I’m very excited and glad you were able to come and sit with me.

SpongeBob: Of course

Me: I see you brought Gary with you…

SpongeBob: Well Gary thinks he’s a star now

Me: Hahaha he is, and so are you!

SpongeBob: Thank you.

Me: I remember when your show first came out. I was in high school (20 years ago!)

SpongeBob: Gee, was it that long?

Me: I know right?! Can you tell me how your show came about?

SpongeBob: I was doing my own thing (like I always do) and someone came to me with the idea of a reality show.

Me: Wow that is crazy. So you were being yourself, and someone thought your life was that fascinating to start a show?

SpongeBob: uh huhhh. It’s not like you see talking sponges all the time….

Me: Yeah I suppose you’re right LOL. So everyone on the show are actual people you know and work with?

SpongeBob: Yep. Everybody is real and we have become closer because of the show.

Me: Even Squidward?

SpongeBob: Yep. We’re best friends actually. The show is often edited so it appears as if I get on his nerves.

Me: But you get on everyone’s nerves LOL

SpongeBob: Yeah it’s only right, huh Gary?

Gary: Meow

Me: Hahahahahaha. Your show aired for 13 seasons, will there be a 14th?

SpongeBob: You’ll have to stay tuned, but I will say you will see more of me…

Me: Like in movies, or toys….

SpongeBob: Or all of the above. There is a high demand for cleaning supplies right…

Me: hahaha indeed. I’m excited, always happy whenever I see anything of you SpongeBob.

SpongeBob: awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Me: So, take us behind the scenes….what is a day like as SpongeBob?

SpongeBob: First I like to get up and wring everything out from the day prior. Wash dishes and take a bath at the same time. Feed Gary. Then go explore outside. The weather is always nice at Bikini Bottom.

Me: Oh wow, will you ever leave BB?

SpongeBob: I have, and came back. BB will always be home, even if I explore other areas of the ocean.

Me: I hear you on that. I like being near the water.

SpongeBob: I need it, you saw the episode when I didn’t have it….the misery….

Me: Yeah that wasn’t good! What does SpongeBob like to do in his spare time?

SpongBob: volunteer work. I enjoy helping clean up communities, so we can all have a healthy and thriving environment.

Me: That’s amazing. Are your friends apart of this volunteer work too?

SpongeBob: Yes. We all find it important to have a clean environment, but that’s because we also live in the ocean.

Me: Yeah. I bet you all see a lot of trash. What do you see the most?

SpongeBob: Plastic. It’s everywhere!

Me: What is something you want people to be careful of.

SpongeBob: Would you want people to leave trash in your house? We all need to be more cautious where we’re tossing trash.

Me: Wow SpongBob, that’s a change of tone

SpongeBob: It’s one of the things I’m passionate about.

Me: I hear ya. We all need to do better at cleaning up after ourselves and for the environment. Where did this passion stir from?

SpongeBob: Well, I was once tossed trash and ended at Bikini Bottom. But I became useful, and began cleaning up areas surrounding me. But as I began travelling, I’ve noticed trash in a lot of different places, and it’s accumulating.

Me: Got it. Trash turning into more trash.

SpongeBob: Exactly!

Me: Can you share different ways you can volunteer?
